Daniel Wurtzel - Magic Carpet

Kinetic sculptures by Daniel Wurtzel. A sheet of red fabric continuously flies in and out of a vortex of air created in the center of a room. Dance? Art? He will be in the next Cirque du Soleil show.

Norah Jones 'Happy Pills' (Max Tannone remix)

Yeah! Another Max Tannone remix, this time 'Happy Pills', Norah Jones.

3D-Printed Visualizations Of Albums

Very geeky, very nice.

Experimental digital media, music, architecture, and sound art lab Realität — founded by Juan Manuel de J. Escalante — has created 3D-printed visualizations of different albums.
Realität describes their Microsonic Landscapes as “an algorithmic exploration of the music [they] love. Each album’s soundwave proposes a new spatial and unique journey by transforming sound into matter/space: the hidden into something visible.” Each piece was created with the open-source, three-dimensional data visualization programming language known as Processing, and then printed via a programmable machine that can print in plastic called MakerBot.

PSY 'Gangnam Style'

Hilarious Korean viral hit Gangnam Style by K-Pop musician Park Jae-Sang. The song with the silly 'let's ride an invisible horse' dance move actually belies a subversive message.

It's So Nice Being A Woman

'Women Are Teachable' ... 1940s. Weird, as if women are species from another planet.

Booklet that was intended to assist male bosses in supervising their new female employees at RCA plants.

Retro-Future Car Designs By 600v

Very hip car designs.

As if channeling the spirit of the future obsessed Syd Mead, a Russian artist going by the name 600v creates automotive designs with a distinctly retro-futuristic twist. With a clear passion for heavy American steel of the 50s, 60s and 70s, he creates cars which push the limits of current car design while at the same time paying tribute to the glorious automotive past.

Candy Wrapper Archive [UPDATE]

The Candy Wrapper Archive is a project of Richard Saunders who started saving candy wrappers in 1983 with a Whatchamacallit bar that his father gave him. In 2009, he started putting his wrapper collection online. Take a nostalgic look at all the candy wrappers he’s scanned in, from 100 Grand to Zero, at his Archive.

Water Wigs

Water Wigs by Tim Tadder.

"We just finished shooting a new project we call Water Wigs. The concept is simple and it is another visual exploration of something new and totally different. We found a bunch of awesome bald men and hurled water balloons at their heads, to capture the explosion of water at various intervals. The result a new head of of water hair! We used a laser and sound trigger to capture the right moments for each subject to create just the head of hair that fit best with the face."

Kevin Van Aelst (Photography)

Kevin Van Aelst re-invents the common.

"My artwork is an attempt to reconcile my physical surroundings with the fears, fascinations, curiosities, and daydreams occupying my mind. The photographs and constructions consist of common artifacts, materials, and scenes from everyday life, which have been rearranged and reassembled into various forms, patterns, and illustrations."

Embroidered Space

Embroidered Space by Faig Ahmed. This is absolutely stunning.

"Faig Ahmed explores composition of a traditional Azerbaijanian carpet by disjointing its structure and placing its elements into open space. With his large-scale piece titled "thread installation", Faig re-interpreted the traditional carpet materials of his homeland by creating a type of spatial 'stitching' with the yarn across the surface of a wall."

Photographs Of A Middle Class Utopia

I love this kind of photography. A mix between 'snapshot' and high end.

This series, Middle Class Utopia by Klaus Pichler, focuses in Austrian allotment gardens in and around Vienna, called ‘Schrebergärten’. These tiny gardens were invented in the late 19th century, mainly to provide space for the working class people to grow their own vegetables and fruits. Over the time, the use of these gardens changed and now they are mainly used for recreational purposes.

Hipsters In The Louvre

Cool project. Love it!

The famous statues at the Louvre in Paris recently got a stylish, sartorial makeover… hip new threads to go with their relaxed, modelesque demeanors. French photographer Léo Caillard teamed up with digital mastermind Alexis Persani to digitally rework the marble figures, bringing them into the modern era with plaid shirts, skinny jeans, boat shoes and, of course, Ray-Bans!
