The history of Glam Rock

A short Noisy doc: Under the Influence - How Glam Rock Got Us From David Bowie to Lil Uzi Vert.

"After Woodstock and before Punk, Glam Rock reimagined the Rock ’n Roll experience as outlandish fantasy. By becoming objects of art themselves, Glam’s performers defined rock stardom as self-invention, stripping away common notions of identity, gender, and sexuality.

As David Bowie and the pillars of London Glam - The Sweet, Mott the Hoople, Slade, and T. Rex - dominated the pop charts, America’s Glam movement manifested in the form of Iggy Pop, New York Dolls, and The Velvet Underground; giving birth to a durable Rock ’n Roll aesthetic template to be embraced or rejected for decades to come.

Under The Influence shows how Glam Rock’s legacy helped give us Disco, Goth, Hair Metal, Prince, KISS, REM, Twin Shadow, Lady Gaga, filmmaker Todd Haynes, LGBT rights, platform boots, and a generation of young artists in the developing world reimagining life as art."

The Tesla Solar Roof order page went live

Elon Musk announced 2 days ago that the Tesla Solar Roof order page went live, and he thinks it's awesome. I think so too.

And no, not only in the US, also in Europe, Middle East et cetera. Pick your country, pick your tile, pick your credit card.

A workman removing one of the European stars, symbolic for Brexit.

It was already values at US $ 1 million. I wonder if the vandal who put 'The Clash' on it added or deducted dollars from this value.

Does Banksy see this as vandalism?! Oeh, how deep.

Who would have expected a link between petanque and kissing Fanny

I didn't. But there is. And it's a very nice story you can read here.

"Fanny was a waitress at a local café in the Savoie region or Lyon– no one seems to agree. Watching the men playing pétanque (or boules) one day, she declared that she would allow any man who lost 13-0 in pétanque, to kiss her on the cheek.

As it happened, it the mayor of the local village was the one to embarrassingly not obtain a single point during his game. Fanny wasn’t fond of the mayor because of an earlier discretion. A woman’s scorn? Instead of offering her cheek, she offered quite a different cheek indeed." ...

Nothing is nowhere - Now I'm sad ... and confused

History of the entire world ... that's confusing.

Why didn't I think of it! - SolarGaps

People are stupid ☺. It took someone this long to invent it: Solar panel window blinds - SolarGaps. I hope they get cheaper soon.

They offer a 3-in-1 solution:
1) They provide shade for your home or office.
2) They can be used to protect your window during storms.
3) They provide you with solar energy to power your appliances.
